Our tips for a more sustainable stay
Together, we can help ensure that resources are used responsibly during your stay. The following tips will help you to use energy, water and materials mindfully and to experience Hamburg in a respectful way.
Using energy sensibly
- Switch off the air conditioning when you leave your room and remove your room key.
- Please keep the windows closed whilst the air conditioning is running.
- Unplug chargers from the socket after use to avoid unnecessary standby consumption.
- Only use lights and electronic devices when necessary.
Conserving water and resources
- Use water sparingly. For example, turn off the tap whilst brushing your teeth.
- Please feel free to reuse towels unless they need changing.
- Please report any technical faults, such as dripping taps, to our team.
- Support our tree-planting initiative ‘Aktion Baum’ with a donation of €1 per night’s stay.

Valuing food
- Please take smaller portions from the breakfast buffet to begin with and feel free to help yourself to more if required.
- Please let our team know about any food intolerances or special dietary requirements so that meals can be planned to suit your needs.
- Meals from our restaurant can be packed to take away on request – please feel free to speak to our service team.
- Our breakfast service is designed to minimise food waste.
Reusable rather than single-use
- Reusable cups are available at Restaurant Mangold for your coffee ‘to go’.
- Please opt for reusable alternatives wherever possible.
