Hotel
- Can I bring my dog?
We naturally also look forward to welcoming any four-legged furry friends. If you wish to bring your dogs you will be charged 20.00 € per dog per night.
- Is there a gym in the hotel?
We do not own a gym, because our neighbours know way more about fitness. So we suggest Holmes Place Fitness Club which is located right next door (only a distance from 150m). Hotel guests have the possibility to get a daily pass for 18.50 € at our reception desk.

Saturday & Sunday 8 am - 9 pm - How big is the SPA Area and how much does it cost?
In the externally managed Cosy Spa Hamburg is equipped with a sauna, a steam bath and a relaxation room. Hotel guests as well as external guests can book a sauna visit in advance. This can also be reserved exclusively. The spa also offer massages and beauty treatments. For prices and further information please click here. Please also make a reservation in advance.
- Can I rent a bike?
Discover Hamburg on a wonderful cycling tour. You are welcome to rent a bike for 16.00 € per day or an e-bike for 25.00 € per day (bookable upon request and subject to availability).
- How long is the reception occupied?
Our reception is every day for 24 hours occupied.
- How long can I have breakfast?
Good morning! Start your day with a delicious breakfast in the Restaurant Mangold (26.00 € per person / per day). The huge selection always includes several vegetarian and vegan options.

Saturday, Sunday & on bank holidays 6:30 am - 1 pm - Can I also have breakfast as an external guest?
Yes, you can have breakfast for 26.00 € per person as an external guest, depending on availability.
- Do you have gluten or lactose free products at breakfast?
Yes, we can offer you gluten or lactose free products. Please ask our service staff at breakfast.
- Can I store my luggage in your hotel?
Yes, you can store your luggage in our hotel, even though you have already checked out or if your room is not ready yet.
- Is the wifi free of charge?
Yes, we have wifi for our hotel guests in the whole hotel free of charge.
Arrival & Departure
- When can I check out and check in?
The check out time is 11 am and on sundays at 12 noon. We guarantee a check in at 3 pm. A late check out depends on availability. Please ask our staff at the front desk.
- What is the fastest way to get from the airport to the Gastwerk Hotel?
You can take the train „S1” from the airport to the stations Ottensen or Bahrenfeld. From there it is 10 minutes walking distance to the hotel.
- Do you have a parking area?
For our hotel guests, we have a limited number of parking spaces available directly in front of the hotel. Parking costs €15 per day and is subject to availability. There are also two charging stations with a total of 4 charging points for electric cars in front of the hotel. While the use of the charging facilities is complimentary, a parking fee of €15 will be applicable.
Please note that parking is also subject to a fee for restaurant and bar guests. The fee for the duration of your visit can be settled directly at Restaurant Mangold or Bar Mangold.
Reservation / Booking
- Do I have to book breakfast right away?
Breakfast does not need to be booked in advance. You are welcome to let our reception team know when you check in, or even decide to have breakfast spontaneously in the morning. Our breakfast service staff will then charge the breakfast to your room. Breakfast is free of charge for children up to the age of 13.
- Can I book an extra bed and how much does it cost?
In most of our room categories you can book an extra or baby bed. Costs for babies cribs are free of charge. Extra beds are available upon request and subject to availability for children up to and including 17 years old at a rate of €36.28 per night, including cultural and tourism tax.
- Do I need a credit card for the booking?
No, if you book via the phone you do not need a credit card. For bookings with arrival after 6 pm, prepaid bookings and bookings during the fair times we need a credit card as a guarantee.
- Is it possible to make a booking under the age of 18?
No, bookings can only be made by persons who are at least 18 years old. Reservations made by minors are invalid. We cannot grant you access to the room without an accompanying adult.
- What if I need to check out before the scheduled departure date?
There may be an early check-out fee if you leave before the scheduled departure date. You can find out more about these possible fees at the reception or by contacting us before your arrival.
- How can I book specials and offers?
You can book our specials and offers directly through this website or by calling the reservation department on +49 (0) 890 62 498.
Rooms
- Is it possible to book 2 rooms side by side?
You are welcome to indicate at the time of booking that you wish to book two adjacent rooms. We will try to make this possible for you. However, due to the different occupancy rates we cannot guarantee this.
- Are there allergy sufferer’s laundry?
Our house is equipped with allergy bed linen. If necessary, our team will be happy to help you at the reception.
- Do you have smooking rooms?
We are a non-smoking hotel. Smoking in the rooms is strictly prohibited and will be charged as a fee in case of non-compliance. Ashtrays are available for you in front of our hotel entrance.
Neighbourhood
- How can I get to the city center?
The fastest way is the train „S1”. The next station Ottensen is about 10 minutes walking distance away and from there you take the train to Jungfernstieg, which takes about 15 minutes.
- What are the restaurants and bars in the area?
In addition to the Restaurant Mangold and our Bar Mangold, there are numerous other dining and nightlife possibilities in our neighbourhood. Please feel free to ask at the reception or browse through the tips for the area on this website.
